The playground and picnic area in Halls Gap, Victoria is a fantastic place to take the family for a day out. 

Located conveniently across the road from the town's shops, surrounded by spectacular mountain views, and backed by the Halls Gap Botanical Gardens and several unmissable Grampians walks, this park has everything you need for a family barbecue and day of adventure!

Playground and picnic facilities



The large playground is packed with all kinds of play equipment and is bordered by multiple picnic tables. Picnic shelters lie at each end of the playground. 

The larger picnic shelter boasts four separate barbecue areas, each with their own barbecue and table and separated by walls for privacy. Two of the barbecues in this undercover area have power points.


The grassy lawn is scattered with picnic tables and water taps. Rubbish bins are conveniently placed throughout the park, and a well maintained toilet block provides sinks, disabled toilets and baby change facilities. 


Walks from Here

Several walks start from the Halls Gap Botanical Gardens, including to the stunning Venus Baths. The Venus Baths are a series of beautiful rock pools created by a section of Stoney Creek flowing over a gorgeous sandstone shelf. This walk is short and easy, great for taking children along, and the scenery is simply amazing. From Venus Baths you can continue on to several other destinations, including Splitters Falls

Are dogs allowed at the Halls Gap Playground and Picnic Area?

Yes, dogs are permitted at the Halls Gap Playground and Picnic Area.

Please note that dogs are not allowed in the Grampians National Park except within vehicles on sealed roads and in sealed parking areas.
